This raspberry rose gin fizz is the perfect cocktail for a special occasion. It's fruity and bright from the raspberries, subtly floral from the rose and so refreshingly delicious. It also has the most gorgeous color, perfect for Valentine's day!
If you're looking for the perfect cocktail for a special occasion, look no further. Not only does this raspberry rose gin fizz look spectacular, it tastes amazing too! Fresh raspberries muddled with rose syrup, mixed with fresh lemon juice and gin and then topped with sparkling water/wine, makes for the most delicious and refreshing cocktail. The raspberries and lemon juice add freshness and brightness, while the rose syrup adds a lovely subtle floral flavor. Gin pairs beautifully with these floral fruity flavors, but you could also leave it out to make a mocktail instead. I hope you enjoy this easy and delicious cocktail recipe!
Raspberry rose gin fizz ingredients
- Raspberries add a lovely sweet and tart flavor to this cocktail. They also lend the most beautiful color to this gin fizz.
- Rose syrup adds a beautiful floral flavor to this cocktail. I love using this amazing organic rose syrup that tastes so wonderful in this cocktail.
- Alcohol - use any good quality gin in this recipe. See recipe for replacements.
- Lemon juice adds a touch of sourness and pairs beautifully with the floral rose and raspberries.
- Agave syrup - I like using agave syrup to sweeten this cocktail because it adds a subtle flavor. You could also replace it with simple syrup made with equal amounts of sugar and water.
- Sparkling water - I use plain sparkling water/soda in this cocktail. You could also replace it with sparkling white wine instead.
How to make raspberry rose gin fizz
- Add the raspberries and rose syrup into a glass and muddle them until the raspberries have broken down.
- Now add in the gin, agave syrup and lemon juice.
- Mix everything together with a spoon.
- Fill the glass with ice.
- Pour sparkling water/wine on top.
- Garnish with a couple more raspberries and fresh mint leaves before serving.
Tips and tricks
- Taste and adjust. I highly recommend you taste and adjust the cocktail to find the perfect balance of sweet and sour. If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, add a little extra agave syrup. If the cocktail turns out sweeter than you like, squeeze in some extra lemon juice and add in more ice. Customizing it is the way to go!
- Replace gin with vodka, tequila or mezcal. If you aren't a fan of gin, replace with another liquor like vodka or tequila. If you love smoky flavors, definitely try out this cocktail with mezcal instead.
- Make it spicy! I love spicy cocktails and this one is fantastic with a little spice! To make it spicy, either mix in a large pinch of chili lime seasoning or muddle a few jalapeño slices in the glass before you make your drink.
- Dilute with sparkling water. If your drink tastes too strong when you first try it, let it sit for a few minutes at room temperature. As the ice melts, it will dilute the drink. If it’s still stiffer than you’d like it to be, top your glass with more sparkling water.
- Serve a crowd. It is so easy to make a large batch of this cocktail to serve a crowd. Use the scaling feature on the recipe card below and make it in a large pitcher instead of a glass. Then pour into glasses when you are ready to serve and add some garnishes!
